Using TVs to Techify Your Classroom
Desktop computers are expensive and tablets aren't big enough. One easy way to Techify your music room is to use a TV and a Chromebit.
A Chromebit is essentially a mini Google Chromebook that can be connected to any TV that has an HDMI port. They cost about $85.
WHAT YOU NEED:

Chromebit

TV with HDMI port (32 inch or higher). Doesn't need bells and whistles.

Keyboard and Mouse (you can get a Bluetooth combo rather cheaply)

Extension cord (the chromebit power cord is rather short)

Google Account

Keep Awake app (if you need it on for a longer period of time)

PROS AND CONS

PRO - Can move anywhere in the room or mount on the wall

PRO - Less expensive than buying computers for your room

PRO - A larger TV (60 inch) can replace any projectors

PRO - Students can log in and out of their google accounts easily

PRO - You can use the sound from the TV - no extra speakers needed

CON - The chromebit doesn't last forever. Maybe a couple years if you constantly leave it running

CON - You can't load any software (like a chromebook). You have to use Google Chrome Apps or the internet.

CON - The chromebit doesn't have a power button, so once you turn the TV on it starts up. If it crashes, you have to unplug and re-plug the power source.
